Thrown out by Diana, and abandoned by the maid, Zena, Nan is destitute.

She is taken in by Florence and her brother. Past history means Florence is not keen to have Nan stay, but she is gradually won over by Nan's efforts and charms.

They become lovers and Nan resumes her stage career, this time with top billing. But Kitty re-enters her life, saying she will leave Walter for her. So whom will Nan choose?
